- Multiskilling and cross-training pathways: The sector requires programs that equip participants with a range of transferable skills to meet evolving industry demands and enhance their long-term employability and promotion opportunities.
- Credentialed pathways to high-wage jobs: Employers support investment in pathways that lead to industry-recognized credentials, certifications, and college credits, helping participants access well-paying, upwardly mobile careers.

- Sawhorse Revolution: This program connects professional carpenters and architects with youth to co-create meaningful community construction projects. Focused on empowering youth through hands-on experience, Sawhorse Revolution builds confidence, fosters community values, and serves as a compelling model for early career exploration.
- SkillsUSA: A national partnership of students, teachers, and industry, SkillsUSA prepares middle school, high school, and postsecondary students for careers in skilled trades through competitions, industry engagement, and a strong emphasis on employability and soft skills.
- Core Plus Construction: An official Washington State program of study, Core Plus Construction gives high school students a head start on careers in the construction industry. Through hands-on learning, students gain practical skills that prepare them for apprenticeships, entry-level jobs, or further education.
- Central Washington University’s Construction Career Launch Program: This Career Launch program expands enrollment in construction-related degree programs that go beyond the trades—preparing students for roles in estimating, accounting, marketing, sales, and safety, in direct response to industry demand.
