- Cross-sector career exploration: Programs that introduce students to clean technology and energy alongside healthcare, life sciences, manufacturing, and other critical industries, helping students make informed career decisions.
- Rural career pathways: Initiatives focused on career exploration and workforce preparation tailored specifically to rural communities, addressing local talent shortages.
- Technician program expansion: Increasing the capacity of programs for HVAC, electrician, and EV technicians to meet immediate workforce demands.
- Emerging Tech Training: Multi-disciplinary technician program that provides training in new and emerging technologies like hydrogen, fusion, battery manufacturing, sustainable aviation fuel (SAF) production, and offshore wind.
High-impact sector programs supported by CCW and the Sector Leader:
- Jumpstart King County: Combines Seattle Central College’s Pre-apprenticeship Construction Training (PACT), Seattle City Light’s Basic Electrical Applied Mathematics (BEAM), and King County’s Energize and YouthSource programs, preparing participants for careers in solar and heat pump installation.
- Renewable Energy Vehicle & Infrastructure Technician (REVIT) Training: Coordinated by Lewis County Transit in collaboration with Capital STEM Alliance, ESD 113, Centralia College, and local school districts, offering dual-credit curricula for high school and college students.
- FWEE Summer Academies: The Foundation for Water and Energy Education provides hands-on experiences, facility tours (dams, powerhouses, substations, fish hatcheries), and personalized career mapping sessions with industry experts to explore power industry careers.
